The artificial stone memorial column is articulated by two reliefs of six-petal flowers carved into opposite faces. At their centre are sculptural inscriptions referring to the event Kyiv Days in Bratislava (12–13 September 1977). Above the inscriptions, the author placed the socialist symbols of a sickle with hammer and a five-pointed star, while below to the sides he positioned embossed coats of arms of the then twinned cities of Bratislava and Kyiv.
The column stands at the centre of two concrete-bordered concentric circles that serve as a bed for flowers and evergreens. The work is located near the primary school at Beňovského 1, at the edge of the extensive Družba Park in the lower part of Záluhy.
Two counterparts to the column in Dúbravka exist by the same authors. One is located in the Old Town (Kamenné Square towards SNP Square) and the other in the park in Rusovce (Balkánska Street).
