An irregular stone slab with a symbolic relief of two faces – a bride with a flower and ribbon in her hair and a groom – is set horizontally on a vertical block pedestal. The reverse aspect features a stylised wing motif.
The work is sited on a lawn in the atrium of a hall formerly used for weddings and ceremonies, as designed in the early 1980s by the architect Juraj Hermann. The sculpture harmonises with the architecture, not only thematically, but also through the use of corresponding materials – light shades of Spiš travertine and Vratsa limestone.
The work was preserved even after the building was leased out and converted into a prayer hall in the 1990s. Later, the building became the property of the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession (ECAV), and in 2003 it was structurally modified into an evangelical church by the architect Ján Bahna.
The sculpture has remained in its original location in the atrium and is accessible to visitors during operating hours of the church and ECAV community centre.
