The work comprises a group of eight free-standing female figures holding bouquets of flowers. The stylised figures have a concrete core and ceramic tiling, and are set directly into a lawn at the centre of a small park next to a former wedding hall from the early 1980s.
The wedding hall building has served for more than twenty years as a church and community centre for the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession. The group of ceramic figures is thematically linked to the building’s original function, hence the work’s colloquial name Bridesmaids being adopted alongside its official name. Benches and a metal pergola for climbing roses are located nearby the statues.
In 2017, the long-neglected statues were professionally restored in cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava.
