The authors designed the large-scale object as part of a series of orientation, artistic, and promotional elements for visitors to national cultural monuments (NKP). According to the contemporary categorisation of the Monuments Board, only about sixty of the most important monuments were registered as NKP. One of them was Devín Castle with the surrounding area.
The elegant iron object by the car park stands on two broad legs that taper towards the top, where a symbol of linden leaves is carved into the metal. On the left side there is a bronze plaque with the inscription NKP Devín Castle. At present, the object is a bit lost among the tall trees.
The iron object served as a prototype for further use and its design was financially supported by the then Slovak Fine Arts Foundation. At present, however, it is not known how many and where these elements have been installed.
Note: In Bratislava, a similar object was placed near Lamač, but none of the then sixty NKP was located in the vicinity. It disappeared from Lamač probably during the widening of the motorway section.
