Veil Fountain

The fountain is one of the largest of its type in the city. It forms part of the linear park (originally the Karol Šmidke Park) designed by Ferdinand Milučký as a complex comprising green spaces, fountains, and a monument to Karol Šmidke.

Veil Fountain is partially located below ground level and features a stepped descent suitable for seating. The fountain’s circular basin is divided into concentric rings separated by concrete walls. Offset towards the perimeter of the main basin stands an abstract metal structure that opens to form a symmetrical shape of two wings. Parallel streams of water flow from these wings creating veils, and a separate jet in front of the structure sprays water to a great height.

The fountain, visually appealing as an object, is even more impressive with the effect of flowing water.
