A large silver ear is installed at third-floor level on the façade of a multifunctional building that forms part of the recent development on Dunajská Street. Ear is a sculpture created in high relief from polished steel, a material that correlates with the main material of the same artist’s sculpture Július Satinský Listens to the Sounds of Dunajská Street, situated on the pavement in front of the building. The figure of J. Satinský points towards Ear on the façade. In this case, however, it is not just about listening to the sounds of the street; the ear was also an atypical eye-catcher for the software company Oracle Slovakia, which was then based in the building. Thus, the artist created a witty combination of the pavement statue and Ear on the façade not only as an aspect of artistic intention regarding the memorial work, but also as an unconventional advertisement. The company has relocated to a different address, and Ear no longer serves as its emblem. It remains to be seen whether future owners or tenants of the building will retain Ear on the façade as an artistic artefact symbolically linked to the nearby statue of J. Satinský.
