The stylised figure of a semi-reclining woman partially covered by richly veiled drapery is supported by an irregularly shaped pedestal. The work is located in a raised flower bed near the entrance to the former district health centre (now polyclinic), which was built in 1976 according to a design by the architect Imrich Ehrenberger.
The immediate vicinity of the work has changed since the time of its installation. Dense decorative shrubs, Gaultheria procumbens, have replaced flowers in the foreground of the border, partially blocking the view of the sculpture from the pavement.
The façade of the polyclinic, originally clad with clinker in warm earthy shades, was insulated and plastered white in 2021. The intimate atmosphere of the medical facility forecourt, with its once warm shades of beige, terracotta and dark brown, has thus been lost.
The unmaintained stone sculpture is currently inconspicuous among the ornamental shrubs, scrubby greenery, parked cars, and bright white façade of the polyclinic. The work is damp and overgrown with moss and lichens. Without adequate maintenance, it is at risk of lasting damage.
