A set of three abstract objects is located in front of an apartment building on Drotárska Cesta. They were created as an aesthetic and artistic enhancement to the forecourt of the apartment building, and also serve as its emblem. With their striking verticality, they resemble totem poles.
Located in front of the individual entrances, these three objects vary in their artistic design. At present, however, they are neither clearly visible nor easily accessible due to overgrown vegetation.
The architect of the residential complex to which they belong is Manol Kančev, who frequently collaborated with the artist M. Šimurda, including on the boarding school for hearing-impaired children that is located across the street.
The abstract object located in front of entrance no. 39 is mounted on a raised concrete pedestal. A smaller, horizontally oriented object adjoins it to one side. Although they are separate, they are compositionally related.
The taller object takes the form of a narrow cuboid, the upper section of which is sharply angled in two places. The surface is clad on all sides with sintered architectural glass mosaic tiles in shades of white and blue. Centrally, a narrow vertical strip of white mosaic squares follows the contour of the object, dividing the composition into two areas distinguished by the use of light blue and dark blue mosaic tiles. The same design principle is applied to the surface of the adjacent smaller object.
The mosaic tiles are laid in a rectangular grid with exceptional precision. This compositional approach is in many ways reminiscent of the glass-mosaic façades of buildings, which also predominantly involves the use of sintered mosaic.
