In the Waterworks Garden of the Bratislava Water Management Company (BVS), next to Drop Fountain, a small spiral observation tower constructed of metal and wood stands on a brick base. Its light metal staircase winds around a central cylinder, vertically clad in wood, that conceals a fountain pump and other technical equipment. The upper section of the observation tower comprises a circular platform that provides panoramic views of the fountain and across the entire Waterworks Garden and museum. During the dormant season, the view also encompasses the nearby Karloveské Rameno, a branch of the Danube.
The mini observation tower is both functional and aesthetic, integrating well into the area’s complex architectural and landscape design.
Note: The Waterworks Garden was heavily flooded and struck by a windstorm in the autumn of 2024. Its recovery and regeneration are underway. It reopened to the public in March 2025, but without operational fountains or many other facilities. The body of the observation tower contains elements of technology for the neighbouring Drop Fountain, and these needs to be repaired or replaced. The observation tower is now publicly accessible via the metal staircase, but sections of wooden panelling that were damaged by high water still need to be repaired. We will provide updated information once these complex site repairs have been completed.
