The rounded corner of Forum Hotel (currently, Crowne Plaza Hotel) near the main entrance from Hodža Square features a large abstract relief by Milan Pulík that spans three floors of the façade. The sculptural two-tone stone relief was incorporated harmoniously with other elements of the façade cladding. The abstract composition comprises a cluster of curving and intertwining lines that expand across the entire surface. The organically formed lines disrupt the rectangular grid of the façade, and the motif’s flow and energy converge at a single point, with all lines intersecting in the central area of the composition.
The work was created as part of the artistic design of the hotel's exterior. Also in the vicinity are the Forum Hotel cornerstone, a drinking fountain, and art-architectural completion of the hotel's forecourt on the side adjacent to Obchodná Street. The hotel was built between 1986 and 1989 in the area bounded by Poštová, Obchodná, Drevená streets and Peace Square (today, Hodža Square), according to a design by a collective of authors (Julián Hauskrecht, Štefan Ďurkovič, Boris Džadoň, Juraj Hermann, Dušan Krepop, Ján Polášek, and Pavel Suchánek). Completion of the hotel was originally intended to be part of a larger complex reconstruction of the block from Poštová Street towards Hurban Square. This ambitious project was ultimately abandoned, and the Forum Hotel building stands in isolation. Its architectural design largely reflects the turn towards postmodernism.
