A commemorative plaque dedicated to the playwright Štefan Králik is mounted on the façade of his former residence at 1 Strakova Street.
Štefan Králik (1909–1983) is a prominent figure in modern Slovak drama. He is the author of numerous plays, television stories, and works of prose. His plays have been staged by amateur and professional theatres, and he was a central playwright at the Slovak National Theatre and the New Stage Theatre in Bratislava.
The rectangular plaque in landscape orientation bears the following inscription on its left side: THE PLAYWRIGHT AND NATIONAL ARTIST ŠTEFAN KRÁLIK LIVED AND WORKED IN THIS HOUSE FROM 1945. 8 JAN. 1909 – 30 JAN. 1983. The plaque is framed on its right side by the open pages of a book. The bust, mounted on a pedestal beside the inscription, depicts an elderly bearded man with his hair combed back and a contemplative expression.
P. Gáspár, the sculptor who created the plaque, focuses on figurative sculpture, small-scale sculpture, and sculptural work in architecture.
