The figural composition is located on the lawn near block D2 in the grounds of the ŠD Družba student dormitory. The work is thematically linked to the location, depicting a group of young people, three women and a man, in conversation. The robust, stylised figures are portrayed with relaxed poses leaning against a curved central wall. The earthenware sculpture stands on a low pedestal fashioned from paving stones.
An interesting feature is the material – durable technical earthenware – relatively unusual for large-scale sculptures. This is also indicated by the PKZ mark at the lower rear of the signature, which refers to PKZ Ceramic Works Poštorná, a business continuously operated since 1867 and the largest manufacturer of chemical earthenware in the Czech Republic.
The work is part of the ambitious ŠD Družba project executed according to a plan of Hungarian architect József Finta as part of a collaboration between design organisations and architectural associations in Hungary and the former Czechoslovakia. As well as the exterior sculptures, the dormitory interiors are noteworthy for their large-scale wall art, mosaics, paintings, tapestries, and design elements.
