The sculpture is situated in a narrow confined space between office buildings, but is set on a raised platform with planted greenery, giving it a greater sense of monumentality within the space.
The monolithic bronze figure depicts an abstract winged figure, and stands on a low pedestal with marble cladding. The stylised, larger-than-life figure, its body angled diagonally forward, produces the illusion of take-off. Striding dynamically, it captures the pinnacle of balance just prior to becoming airborne.
Dynamic deviations and uneven spatial distribution of mass were recurring compositional elements in the artist’s work. They appeared in his earlier projects, such as the sculptures Desire to Fly in Ružinov and Icarus in Petržalka. The figure, without head or arms and with outstretched wings, can also be viewed as a loose interpretation of the ancient Niké of Samothrace.
The sculpture was cast by Andrej Margoč based on a model, and the finishing work, involving polishing the bronze surface after casting, was carried out by the artist himself. The sculpture was installed at its current location in 2005 and is owned by the Diplomatic Corps Service Administration.
